Year: 1928
Formal composite studio portrait of the Yoncalla High School Class of 1928, Yoncalla, Douglas County, Oregon. The photograph includes handwritten identifications for the individuals pictured, along with the central inscription “Class of 1928 — Yoncalla High School.” Identified individuals pictured are Ilah Corrine Kelso, Blanche Irene Toner, Eula La Velle Huntington, Dorothy Vanita Richard, David Carpenter, O. L. Rhinesmith, Forrest Edward Sehlin, Helen Augusta Mathis, Lena Elsie Hummel, Mildred Smith, and Gladys Elaine Ohlsen. A related 1928 graduating class roll includes eight of the students shown here, while David Carpenter and Mildred Smith are identified in the photograph but do not appear on that roll. This suggests they may have been classmates, associated students, or otherwise connected with the 1928 school group. O. L. Rhinesmith served as principal. Teachers associated with the class were Berniece Hunter and Lily Christopherson. The class motto was “Character is the Only True Diploma.” The class colors were orange and white, and the class flower was the white rose. This composite portrait preserves a detailed visual record of Yoncalla High School students and faculty in
