More information: https://library.rush.edu/rusharchives The Woman’s Board of Rush University Medical Center is one of the oldest woman’s boards in Chicago, Ill. The board from Presbyterian Hospital was started in 1884, and the board from St. Luke’s Hospital was started in 1892. In 1956, the Trustees of the two hospitals merged to form Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital, and in 1959, the two woman’s boards merged. In 1969, when the hospital joined Rush Medical College and activated the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, the woman’s board became the Woman’s Board of Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center. In 2003, the Trustees of Rush renamed the medical center Rush University Medical Center, a name that encompasses all aspects of a major medical center. To follow that leadership, the Woman’s Board became the Woman’s Board of Rush University Medical Center.
