About this book

War Diary of No. 26 (later No. 81) Canadian Ordnance Workshop ( Light), 1916-1919

Author: Canadian Army

Year: 1919

During the First World War, the Canadian Ordnance Corps had three Mobile Ordnance Workshops, which repaired and maintained the artillery and equipment of the Canadian Corps. All their war diaries are on the Internet Archive. These three workshops were the predecessors of the many RCEME units formed during the Second World War. No. 26 Canadian Mobile Ordnance Workshop (Light) was formed in 1915 to support the Canadian Corps. The workshop was renamed No. 81 Canadian Ordnance Mobile Workshop (Light) in November 1918. This document includes an article by Colonel Murray C. Johnston, MSM, CD, titled “Setting the RCEME Standard”.
