About this book
Walter Thayer "Chappie" Ridehalgh Photo Alblum, 1903
Author: Ridehalgh, Walter Thayer
Year: 1903
Thin, brown, leather-bound photo album, held together with two staples and blue-gray "construction paper" pages inside. The front cover is decorated with pink flowers (possible dogwood?) that accompany a swirling border. The majority of the flowers are in the upper right hand corner of the front cover. The spine of the album has "mock stitching." The back cover is blank. The creator of the album was an approximately seven-year-old boy named Walter Thayer Ridehalgh, also known as "Chappie." Chappie's parents were Zoe Carruthers and Walter William Ridehalgh. He had a younger brother named James Robert. (possibly the baby in this album?) His grandparents on his mom's side were Robert Carruthers and Harriet Hunter Carruthers. One of his aunts was Grace Carruthers Allen. Her children were Zoe Allen (Evans) and Mignon Allen (Cellars). Chappie is pictured in this album with these cousins. Size: 7" x 10"
