Assessors valuation books with value of real and personal property, number of polls, taxes for Gypsy Moth collected and rates for state, county, town, and other taxes. In alphabetical listing format but names under each letter is any order and sometimes not under the correct letter as they were added later. No streets are listed with the surname. Non-residents owning land in Wayland but resided in another town are listed by name only at the end of each year. It shows the number of acreage owned and is listed under the town of residency. Some years have abatements listed next to the surname but at the end of the ledger. Abatements for all the years are recorded. 1856 shows additions and transfer of property but the other years do not.
