Coleridge’s 1811-1812 lectures on Shakespeare appeared (vol. 10, nrs. 244, 247 and 250 - 1 and 22 July and 12 August 1854). Two have been marked as evidence in Collier’s 1856 libel action against John Russell Smith, who had to suppress a work by A. E. Brae, accusing him (wrongly) of forging Coleridge’s Shakespeare lectures (Literary Cookery. London, 1855, see Bib# 4117337/Fr# 1179 in this collection); the third is now lacking the first leaf, which was presumably similarly marked, and half of the second leaf. All have pencil annotations by Collier. Accompanied by a clipping about the case from the Daily News.
