This Brigade was in turn part of the 59th (2nd North Midland) Division. The Battalion saw action in Ireland in 1916, leaving January 1917 (page 85). The Battalion moved to France at the end of February 1917, and were part of the 4 th Army under Sir H Rawlinson, and were posted to the 3 rd Corps under Sir Wm Pulteney (page 92) Page 213 indicates that the Battalion was disbanded 29 January 1918, due to the man-power situation, when drafts were sent to 5 other Battalions of Sherwood Foresters. A short statement of the Battalion’s services is on pages 214- 215.
