In which Melville C. Keith, MD, gives his opinions about how you can go to hell. Mostly, it's by having sex. Throughout the book he uses the metaphor of a road, or a railroad, which takes people to hell by persuading them that it's all right to have sex occasionally. On page 130 he notes that some people think he's a crank. Sections: What is a road? The exact location of hell. About Onan. (He goes on to call him Captain Onan in later chapters, which is splendid.) The earliest travel on this road. Early in life, not in human history. The author is incensed that children are aware of their own bodies. Conditions of travel over this road. There are enlarged engravings of the sperm of various mammals. A pass or a ticket . Having a "ticket" to hell means having sex outside marriage, or masturbating, or having marital sex using contraception. Having a "pass" to hell means being married and not having sex. I don't understand this bit. Personal condition of passengers. Mostly ranting about masturbation. This is only about men; the women are in the next chapter. Lady passengers.
