The Red Raven Library #08 [1905-03-04]. ("Walking The Plank; Or, The Last Cruise Of The "Flying Scud" by "An Old Salt") The Red Raven Library was a dime novel published by The Winner Library Co. (an imprint of Street & Smith) which focused on "Stirring Tales Of Old Buccaneer Days." 37 issues were published in 1905 before it changed its name to Paul Jones Weekly . Instead of pirates, the focus was now on fictional adventures of John Paul Jones , a real-life naval hero of the American Revolution. 19 issues were published before it finally folded in 1906. Harbaugh and *John DeMorgan under the pseudonym of *"An Old Salt." Stories of three boys, *Thaddeus Fergus, Oliver Wade, and Simon Van Twiller ("Simple Simon"), aboard the ship The Red Raven on the trail of Captain Kidd and other pirates. There may have been some attempt to emulate the British Red Rover
