The Hussar's fashionable Quadrilles, As performed at all Public & Private Assemblies. Arranged for the Piano Forte with the Proper Figures in French & English, Dedicated to The Ladies Patronesses, by An Amateur of Distinction by whose Authority they are published. This publication was published by Goulding, D'Almaine, Potter & Co . The contents consist of nine Quadrille dances named " Marquis of Anglesea ", " Hon G. Cathcart ", " Lord Vane Stewart ", " Lord Wiltshire ", " Lord Cecil ", " Duke of Cumberland ", " Marquis of Drogheda ", " Colonel Murray ", " Grand Finale ". This particular copy was issued on paper watermarked for the year 1820. There are no composition credits except for the first Quadrille in the collection which is marked as " Arranged for the Piano Forte by I Parry ". John Parry (1776-1851) was a popular composed and arranger of social dance music, it's unclear whether his involvement was only for the first quadrille or for the entire collection. An advertisment on the cover indicates that " the New Lancier's fashionable Quadrilles " were available from the same source. The collection was being sold for four shillings.
