The Hymner Containing Translations Of The Hymns From The Sarum Breviary Together With Sundry Sequences & Processions (Second Edition) In this little volume are contained translations of all, save two, of the Hymns from the Sarum Breviary. To these has been added a selection of Sequences and Processions, also (for the most part) of Sarum Use. Of the total number, nearly one half are from the pen of the late Dr. J. M. Neale, of whose vigorous and scholarly renderings the Editor has gladly availed himself. In order however to make the collection more complete, it was necessary to draw upon other sources. The names of those to whom the Editor is indebted, directly or indirectly, for assistance in this work, will be found in the English Index. While acknowledging his obligations to each and all of these, whether living or departed, he feels bound to mention with special gratitude the name of his former valued friend and colleague, the late Rev. M. J. Blacker. The letters (E), (M), (L), stand for Evensong, Mattins and Lauds respectively. N.B.
