Digitised by Google Books from the collection at the University of Michigan https://books.google.com/books?id=EhUgAAAAMAAJ The various Battalions fought on the Western Front, in Salonika (2 nd and 8 th ) and Palestine (10 th ). The 4 th Battalion went to India, Burma and the Andaman Islands, embarking late October 1914. The Battalion was sent to Singapore in February 1915, following the mutiny there of the 5 th Light Infantry. The Battalion left Singapore April 1917, with some drafts previously having been sent to Hong Kong, spending some weeks in Ceylon and South Africa on the return voyage, arriving in England late July 1917, when they were posted immediately to France.
