Photograph of Stanley Bates Ports standing outside the John Roffler House in Camas, Washington, likely taken around 1925. At this time the Ports family was living at the Roffler property at 15th Avenue and NE Everett Street, directly across from Crown Park, a central landmark in the Camas community. The fence and yard visible behind him appear in several other surviving family photographs from the same winter snowstorm. This image represents an early period of the Booth–Ports family’s presence in the Camas–Washougal area. Stanley’s father, Samuel Kirkwood Booth, died in 1912 in Toledo, Oregon, after which his widow, Sarah Catherine Shaffer Booth, relocated to Washougal, living roughly half a block north of the One Stop. Her move into the region predates the later arrival of the extended Ports family, who came north after living in Astoria and ultimately settled in Camas following the 1922 Astoria fire. By the mid-1920s, both the Booth and Ports lines were fully established in eastern Clark County. The print aligns closely with photographs found in the high-school album of Katherine Fay Ports (Hunt), Stanley’s daughter. Although this copy was found loose, remnants of the original bl
