This paper refers to experiments carried out daring 1909-1910 between the Fesscnden high-power station at Brant Hock and the U.S. cruisers /b Birmingham/ and /b Salem/. A series of experiments enabled data to be obtained as to the laws governing the radiation and reception of electric waves, and the subject of atmospheric absorption up to a distance of 1000 miles to be studied. At Brant Rock 50 to 60 kw. were employed, the two ships' stations being equipped with 10-kw. 500-~ motor-generators.
