A scrapbook that includes photos, maps and documents concerning Colonel George Watson French and his Iowana Farms, famous for its herd of Holstein dairy cows, and located in the area from 1912 to 1942. Also included are handwritten minutes of meetings, held at Duck Creek School, concerning the process of incorporation of the city of Riverdale, an official ballot of the first election of officers held on December 23, 1950, and court documents submitted to the district court for incorporation. There are aerial views of the Riverdale area including the straightening of the Crow Creek channel to prevent flooding caused by ice jams. School related items include information about the organization of the five Pleasant Valley Rural Independent Districts into a single unit, a Riverdale Parent Teacher's Association booklet, Riverdale School 8th grade graduation programs, a brochure for the school bond election of 1957, and a brochure distributed by the Scott County Citizens Committee that answers questions about the "Scott County Plan for School Reorganization". The scrapbook ends with photos of Riverdale firemen and their trucks, and photos of the 1966 tornado damage.
