About this book
Robert and Ann (West) Scott Photo Album
Author: Ann West Scott Family
Year: 1890
Fabric-covered photo album with missing metal clasp on right side. Pages inside are cabinet-cards covered with decorative paper. The hole cut out for the photos are oval; the back 4 pages have four rectangular cut-outs. The fabric covering the entire album is a faded red-brown, with remnants of red velvet on the front cover, and more extensively on the back cover. The covers are "puffy." The first four pages inside the album have become loose for the spine, but are held in the book by brown fabric binding connecting the pages. There are three loose photos and a catalog of the people's names created by Jim Aalberg, a West descendant and Westport researcher. Size: 8" x 10" From the catalog created by : "Photographs from the old West family album, in the possession of Virginia Merritt. Photographs in the album were typically taken in the 1890s and early 1900s. The preponderance of the album represents the Robert Hall Scott and Ann West Scott marriage. This makes logical sense, Ann was the oldest daughter and her children were the oldest (some were already married). Ann and Robert also had the largest number of children of any of the offsprings from the marriage of "Captain" John West
