Description: This postcard is from the Ray and Viola Hunter Family Collection (1912-1999). Ray Golden Hunter (March 3, 1896 - July 29, 1969) was born in Flushing, MI. Viola May Thrasher (January 18, 1902-January 12, 1966) was born in Veedersberg, IN. They met each other in Sacramento, CA and got married on January 18, 1918. Ray Hunter served in the US Army during World War I from 1917-1918. They had two children, George Albert Hunter (May 18, 1920 - October 30,1942) and Betty Jane Hunter (January 26, 1924 - October 3, 2002). Ray and Viola Hunter had resided in various locations in the Sacramento region since around 1917, where many of their family members and descendants also live. Letter Transcription: Mrs. Viola Hunter Sacramento California U.S.A St. Germain France Jan. 6 1918 My Dear wiffie [wife-ee], I rec. your ever welcome letter yesterday and was sure glad to hear from you and to no you all are lot better this leaves me fine I will rite a letter in a day or so as soon as they get some paper here. I think we will be in the states the last of Feb. or the first of March so with lots of true love and xxx will close hoping to see you soon I remain your ever loving hubby RGH xxxxx
