Small collection of photographs and documents pertaining to Paul Harrison West (12/7/1882 - 9/16/1956). Paul H. West was the 8th child and 4th son of Josiah West, III; pioneer of Clatsop Plains. Paul married Constance Henrietta Erickson in Vancouver, WA in 1913. They had two daughters: Helen (Conner) 1914-1983 and Jane West 1915-1992. Paul had a farm in Necanicum, pictured above. He also assisted his father and older brother Willis "Bill" West at West's Dairy on Broadway Street in Seaside, OR. (Robert Dunning and Frank Daly were also managers there during the dairy's stay from 1917 to 1941.) The postcard in this collection is addressed to Uncle Chris and Aunt Mary (West) Peterson. There are two pages of copied photos relating to the Paul H. West family, which were collected by Paul D. See - cousin to Helen and Jane through his mother Violet West See. The 2nd-to-last item in this collection are copies of an article from the February 20, 1924 Astorian Budget newspaper. The article is titled: "Mrs. West of Seaside is Near Death From Error." Constance West apparently confused the oxalic acid crystals used for treating cattle, with Epson salts, and found herself poisoned. But she recove
