Renamed Passau 11/1942: - Officially declared war-prize 6/11/1942: - Renamed Karin, managed by F Laeisz, Hamburg. First voyage to Asia 10/3/1943: - Intercepted by CL-42 USS Savannah and DD-430 USS Eberle in the South Atlantic 400 miles WNW of Ascension Island.
