The New York Nursery and Child's Hospital was incorporated in 1910. It was formed out of the consolidation of three antecedent institutions, the Old Marion Street Maternity Hospital (founded in 1823 as the New York Asylum for Lying-In Women, changed its name to the Old Marion Street Maternity Hospital in 1894, and merged with New York Infant Asylum in 1899), the New York Infant Asylum (incorporated in 1865), and the Nursery and Child's Hospital (incorporated in 1854). In 1934, the New York Nursery and Child's Hospital merged into New York Hospital.
