Book called "Nature Studies: With Observations on the Natural History of Newfoundland" by James P. Howley, F.G.S., read before the Daughters of the Empire, February 24th 1913, in the British Hall. This book discusses various wildlife that live on Newfoundland island, and the southern coast of Labrador. This most relevant passages concern the introduction of moose to the island. The first file is screenshots of the micro-fiche, while the second is searchable PDF. Note that I, a human, attempt to transcribe it to the best of my abilities. Any strange "typos" from the original text are denoted by [SIC], with some errata added in from the original text. With both files though, it should be fairly straight forward to determine which spellings are correct.
