Henry C. Platt (1850-1895) was born in Georgia, and moved to Nantucket, Mass., where he worked as a photographer and operated a shop on Centre Street. In 1892, he was awarded a patent for a camera shutter. He married Ann Maria Starbuck (1855-) in November 1876. Book 4 describes life in Augusta, Ga.; business trips to Cincinnati (Ohio), Louisville (Ky.), Lexington (Ky.), Chattanooga (Tenn.), Montgomery (Ala.), Grand Junction (Tenn.), Selma (Ala.), New Orleans (La.) Paducah (Ky.), St. Louis (Mo.), Springfield (Ill.) and Chicago (Ill.), 1872. Materials in this collection were digitized with support from Connie and Tom Cigarran.
