Methods of measuring the inductances of low-resistance standards

Year: 1915

Values hitherto obtained for the residual inductance of "non-inductive" standards of low resistance have been based upon the calculated inductance of some conductor. The inductances of standards of odd shapes have been obtained by measuring the differences between their phase angle and that of the calculated standard. The methods described by the authors determine the phase angles of low-resistance standards without recourse to computed values. In the first method the sum of the phase angles of two resistance standards is given. By using 3 resistance standards 3 sums can be measured from which each phase angle can be obtained .The second method makes use of a standard%2
