Collection of photos, documents, articles, and notes regarding the Mary Lamira West Peterson descendants. These items are arranged in chronological order and by item. The first items are of Mary, her teaching certificate, and Bible family record. Then there is an advertisement for the Equitable Savings & Loan Association with a small history and photos of Chris Peterson, Mary's husband. Then there is the house and some handwritten notes, continuing with photos of the children, which are labeled on the back. There are then some photographs that were unlabeled, as well as two girls that have an unknown relationship to the family: Violet Bowlsby (difficult to read) and Martha Allen. Then there are correspondences between various family members, and the last section tells the story of the $11 million donation of Carl O. Peterson to the Good Samaritan Hospital in 1991. The color photos of the dedication ceremony show some of the remaining West cousins, as well as a few unknown people shaking hands. Mary Lamira West is the oldest daughter of Josiah West, III; Clatsop Plains pioneer. Mary West married Chris Peterson in 1895, and they had three children: Carl, Lawrence, and Marjorie. Lawre
