About this book
Manual of Classical Bibliography (two volumes), Second Edition
Author: Moss, Joseph William (Magdalen Hall, Oxford)
Year: 1837
The two-volume second edition of Joseph William Moss's A Manual of Classical Bibliography, Comprising in Copious Detail the Various Editions of the Greek and Latin Classics, and of the Critical and Philological Works Published in Illustration of Them, with an Account of the Principal Translations into English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, etc. Published by Henry G. As a result, the early pages tend to be scanned (on the Plustek Opticbook used) with a tight gutter or askew—and thus showing marginal voids when straightened—because the very soft spine was failing without allowing the signatures to part; the latter pages were able to be scanned flat since they were carefully separated signatures by then. Where possible, marginalia (only a few) have been preserved. The pages were in general very clean, but printed on a thick robust cotton rag which will still show a good deal of their physicality in waviness of the scanned text, which may affect the OCR quality (especially in roman/italic pass
