Younger brother of Herbert E. Church; lost his life crossing the Athabasca River while on a prospecting trip. // Church, Alfred John: 1829-1912. Father of Richard Church and Herbert E. Church. // The brothers spent a year on a farm in Ontario before settling near Calgary on Sheep Creek. See also Peel 5320.
