[Verse 1] I met a man in Germany, who said to me, Old chap, / [“]You ought to go to Canada, it’s not quite off map. / And there’s ripping chances there for building up a foreign trade, / For they import most ev’ry [every] thing though some things are home made”. / So I came across the water and I landed in Quebec. / Fell down an avenue of steps, I nearly broke my neck. / I felt so beastly shaky I had a glass of beer. / ‘Imported?’ I said to the man, he said ‘its [it’s] made right here.’ [Chorus] Made in Canada; “By Jove” upon my word, / I thought beer was imported here, / At least that’s what I’ve heard, / You’re sure that you’re not spoofing me? / ‘Oh no’ said he it’s true, / Why the bottle and the glasses were made in Canada too.
