The first is a list of specimens (with measurements) collected and seen on a trip from Fort Snelling to Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, 9-28 July 1890, collector numbers collector numbers 7300 to 7349 (collector numbers are corrected in red to 7124 to 7168). The second, notes on plants, June 1888 to July 1889, seen or collected in Kanabec County, Minnesota, and other localities. The third, notes on the summer birds of Southeastern Minnesota: "these notes are made based on observations in marching 227 1/2 miles from Fort Snelling, Minnesota, to Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, with the 3d U. S. Infantry, occupying the period from July 8th to 24th, inclusive". In this list, birds are listed by scientific name, under which are listed collector numbers corresponding to that species. Root River is given as a locality for this list and collector numbers range from approximately 7279 to 7563
