James B. Guthrie (1792 - 1869), United States Secretary of the Treasury from 1853-1857, responds to James Curtis Booth (1810-1888) informing him that Booth's request for "a table of correspondences between pressure and temperature, determined by the Board [of Supervisors]" can not be fulfilled, as none exists. James Curtis Booth (1810-1888) was Melter & Refiner at the United States Mint in Philadelphia. The James Booth papers are held by the Science History Institute in Philadelphia.
