Henry Richard Linderman (1825-1879), superintendent of the United States Mint, writes to James Curtis Booth (1810-1888) following his letters of March 4th and May 10th to discuss the activities of the New York Assay Office. James Curtis Booth (1810-1888) was Melter & Refiner at the United States Mint in Philadelphia. The James Booth papers are held by the Science History Institute in Philadelphia.
