About this book
Lake County School Enumeration Records - St. John Township
Author: St. John Township Trustee
Year: 1880
The Lake County, Indiana school enumeration records were reports created by the township trustee and sent to the Lake County Superintendent of Public Instruction. They were taken between the first of March and the first of May each year. These records are lists of persons living in their own school corporation, those transferred in, and are between the ages of six to twenty one years of age, who can read and write. In addition to student names, they may include parents, guardians or heads of household who are entitled to be enumerated for school privileges. 1880 to 1931 Name look-ups are available by contacting the Lake County Public Library, Merrillville Branch, Indiana.
