Brazilian translation of the biography of Daniel Encontre (1762-1818; Protestant Pastor and former teacher of Mathematics at Montpellier), written by Juillerat. Encontre has been teacher of Auguste Comte (1798-1857, founder of Sociology and Positivism) when this one was an enfant; the impressions Encontre produced over the young Comte have been so good and so strong that Comte dedicated his last great work, the Subjective Synthesis (1856), precisely to Encontre. This Brazilian edition corresponds to the number 178 of the catalog of publications of the Brazilian Positivist Church.
