There are several different petitions/contracts in this collection, spanning from 1873 (the year John R. Harrison died), through 1877. **Note: the cursive writing here makes the middle initial "R" look like a "B." There are two John B. Harrisons in Hood River and Idaho, but the birth and death dates don' match. It appears that both of the oldest sons from each of John R. Harrison's wives were involved in these matters: James Miller Harrison born in 1829 with Jane Miller Harrison as mother, and John Harrison, Jr. born in 1842 with Mary Brown Smith Harrison as mother. The first page of this collection lists John Russell Harrison's "heirs of law."
