Letters from industrialist John Durrant Larkin (1845-1926) to Harold Morton Esty (1878-1925) written in 1897 pertaining to Larkin’s hiring of Esty at the Larkin Soap Manufacturing Company in Buffalo, NY. Born in Framingham, MA in 1878, Harold M. Esty was the son of architect Alexander Rice Esty. He moved to Buffalo NY to attend the Heathcote School in 1893. In 1899, Esty married Larkin’s eldest daughter, Frances Elberta Larkin. Esty became a director of the Larkin Company and its Advertising Manager.
