For the price of a penny, each 20-page issue contained three (or four) short stories which had originally been published in The Strand Magazine during its first two years (1891 & 1892), along with the original illustrations. The front cover of each issue featured an interior illustration from one of the stories. It was published at the offices of "Tit-Bits." Illustrated Penny Tales From The ''Strand'' Library ended with the tenth issue. It was
