About this book
Illustrated London Almanack Vol. 32 1876
Author: VictorianVoices.net
Year: 1876
The Illustrated London Almanack was published annually by The Illustrated London News from 1845 to 1895. Beginning in 1858, each issue offered six color engravings by the Leighton Brothers. Issues included a vast array of information for the London reader, from the latest laws to tariffs, license fees, postal rates, statistics, lists of government officials, obituaries and more. Most issues also featured articles on seasonal folklore, country customs, nature, etc. Early issues offered an astronomy feature. After 1880 the ILA focused primarily on charts and lists; in 1888 it switched to duotone prints and began to publish fiction. Our collection runs from 1845-1888 and includes the complete collection of prints, either within the text of each volume or at the end of the document.
