CANTON. THE RIOTS AT CANTON. NINGPO. HANKOW. CHINKIANG. TIENTSIN. NEWS BY THE AMERICAN MAIL. There is a cloud gathering in India, and uneasy murmurs denote a growing dissatisfachon and unrest. The Dio says that General Martiner Campos, Minister of War, to-day informed the Cabinet. The Seville newspapers state that several sergeants and a corporal stationed there have been arrested. A riotous outbreak occurred to-day, in the town of Chaves, Portugal, in connection with a local grievance. The unblushing insolvency of the Duke of Teck and the condition of the royal medicants generally continue to be freely discussed. BEITISH MEDIATION. RESULT OF THE ST. LEGER. IT is stated that 90 per cent. of the Russian people are grossly illiterate. LATEST reports from Canton state that everything is quiet, and the general order of things remains unchanged. OWING to great pressure on our space "The St. Leger" by "An Old Sportsman" has been kept over until to-morrow.
