Page 1-2: Photo of original photo and back. Page 3: Restored photo This is a studio photograph of an Irish immigrant family living in the Ironbound section of Newark in about 1891-92. John Farley (originally Farrelly), was born in Kingscourt, County Cavan, Ireland, in about 1844. Bridget Fitzsimmons was born in County Cork, Ireland, around 1850. John and Bridget married May 13, 1875, at Saint James Church in Newark. They registered and voted in the first district of the 12th Ward, Newark. Family history says John Farley Sr. was the first school truant officer in Newark. But the 1880 U.S. Census lists a John Farley of the same age as a laborer. They lived around Madison and Ferry Streets in the Ironbound. The photo was made by “W.
