About this book
Columbia 1930 Supplementary Catalogue
Author: Columbia Phonograph Co., Inc.
Year: 1929
Columbia Records, Supplementary Catalogue, 1930 (records issued between October 1928 and September 1929) The new Masterworks sets, No. 58 and Nos. 98 to 122, are given contents listings, and there is an updated numerical listing. Acoustical sets deleted since the last issue are Nos. 4, 5, 9 and 10. An asterisk beside Sets Nos. 99 and 122 indicates these sets are for sale in the USA and Canada only; these were recordings derived from Parlophone/Odeon matrices. Besides the Masterworks sets, there are now Modern Music sets (Nos. 1-4) and the first two of the "Columbia Operatic Series" (Bizet's "Carmen" and Verdi's "La Traviata"). These, too, have contents listings, although the one for Modern Music Set No. 4, "Columbia Gems of Melody" is not as detailed as the others, being merely a collection of existing single records in the 12" popular 50000-D series.
