A highly interesting letter from Andrew Eliot, of Boston, to Thomas Hollis in England, dated April 18, 1768, includes the following on Massachusetts silver coinage: "I received your commission concerning the New England coin, with the greatest pleasure, but am greatly disappointed in the execution of it.
