Photo album that belonged to Charles (Kalle) Wirkkala. The handwritten Finnish inscription inside the front cover is translated as "This is a gift from my mother upon my 17th birthday, December 28, 1899. Kalle Wirkkala, Astoria, Oregon." Inside is a small card with the name Helga Maria Wirkkala, Kaustinen (Finland). He was born about 1883 in Finland. and had daughters , Helen and Gertrude, wife Anna. He worked for banks. Contains 26 photos and 5 tintypes. The first photo is possibly his parents. No names on photos but most were taken in Astoria. Size of album: 8" x 10.5" Charles was born in Kaustinen, Kaustinen Municipality, Central Ostrobothnia, Finland.
