Author: Camp, Walter
Year: 1919
"The All-America Team: Annual Review of the Football Season" together with "The All-Service Team: Football Stars of Camp, Cantonment, and Station," by Walter Camp Annual All-America selections for the football season of 1918. As the United States was embroiled in World War I during the year and many of the top players were enlisted or drafted by the United States Armed Forces, a second list of service team players was also named. Highlights of the team are Rutgers end Paul Robeson, later a singer and political activist, as well as the organizer of the first New York Giants team, Charley Brickley, named first team fullback for the service teams. Includes the covers of the Jan. 4 and Jan. 11 issues Collier's Magazine in which the lists appeared. Published in the USA prior to 1930, public domain.
