Camas Mill Photo Project The Chris Sharp-Manger Photos This ninth photograph is dated May 8, 1926, and marks a transition in the story of the Camas Mill. Much of the mill now stands completed, with construction shifting from major structural work to finishing the buildings and preparing them for operation. Several workers are visible on a temporary wooden platform outside the building. One appears to be leveling or finishing concrete, while a handcart and heavy timbers remain scattered across the work area, reminders that construction was still underway. The photograph may show the Hemlock Screen Room, which later became the Kamyr pulp dryer automated baling area. The larger building behind it may be the No. 3 and No. 9 paper machine room. Both identifications remain tentative and await confirmation from those familiar with the mill’s layout.
