Camas Mill Photo Project The Chris Sharp-Manger Photos This third photograph shows workers moving wheelbarrow-style cement carts along a wooden path through the Camas Mill construction site on September 2, 1922. The previous image showed a trough system that appears to have carried cement farther north, or toward the right side of the frame. Together, the two photographs give a sense of how quickly the work was moving from one stage to the next. The hillside behind the worksite may be part of Prune Hill, though that identification remains uncertain. At the right side of the image, the building may be connected to the Magnetite bleach plant, which would place this view closer to what is now the current mill entrance. Both details should be treated as tentative. Near the center of the photograph, a canvas-covered wall screens off part of the mill or construction area. One small flaw remains in the upper-right area: a white “snowflake” mark on the print near one of the figures. It was left in place because removing it would have taken too much of the figure with it.
