Manuscript comprises 119 pencil, pen and ink, and wash drawings; all signed and all tipped-in; some are numbered in ink; two are dated: “June 1802,” and “Aug.t,”; plants’ botanical names and common names inscribed in ink below most drawings; most of the locations of the flowers are inscribed in ink in lower right corners; two leaves of “Explanations of the figures of the grasses” tipped-in back; two leaves of manuscript index tipped-in back; dried plant specimen in folding leaf, two leaves manuscript, and two leaves of ink drawings all laid loosely laid in. Bound in dark blue-green morocco; gilt; t.e.g. Spine height: 17 inches. Original held by the Oak Spring Garden Foundation, Upperville, Virginia.
