Personal Diary of one "John Duff", a veteran of the Boer War, who served as a medic during the conflict. This document was digitized by the uploader of this document with the assistance of the Simon Fraser University Museum of Anthropology, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada during the year 2017 A.D. The original hard copy was written by the great uncle of the uploader in 1899, and is retained by the uploader as part of their personal collection, and is sealed inside Mr. Duff's original Queen Victoria chocolate box to prevent damage from the elements. . No other copies of this document exist elsewhere on the internet; nor do additional physical copies exist besides the original. . This PDF Document contains a hand-written forward penned by Mr. Duff in 1950, followed by the original hand-written pages of the diary from 1899 chronicling the events he witnessed and/or took part in during the Boer War in South Africa. Diary entries were originally done in pencil, but appear to have been written over in pen for clarity line by line during the 1950's by Mr. Duff, at the time when he wrote the forward to the text. .
