This is an original 1888 blueprint for two variations of a steam hoist built by M.C. Bullock Manufacturing Company located on Lake Street and Talman Avenue in Chicago. Used in mines, these machines utilize two steam cylinders to control a winding drum that raises or lowers the headframe cables in the shaft. Left side depicts a first motion style hoist, right side depicts a geared style hoist.
