About this book

Billy Bunter : The Mystery Of The Head's Study - Single Issue

Year: 1926

The Mystery of the Head's Study by Frank Richards Magnet #942 A single edition of The Magnet : one of my very favourite Bunter tales. Humour. A complete story in one volume, published in 1926. Featuring Billy Bunter and the chums of Greyfriars, an English public school in Kent. Greyfriars School was created in 1908 by the author Charles Hamilton, writing under the pen-name Frank Richards . The stories originally appeared in The Magnet , a British story paper (containing text stories with illustrations), which was published weekly in London by the Amalgamated Press between 1908 and 1940, when publication ceased due to wartime paper shortages. After the war Hamilton continued the stories in other formats. There was a television series, which he wrote, in the 1950s; and a long-running series of novels, published from 1947 until 1965.
