A Civil War letter written in two parts by William St. Clair from his camp in Calhoun, Kentucky on November 8, 1861. The first section of the letter is addressed to his cousin Hattie (Harriet Frances Carico); the second section of the letter is addressed to his cousin “Lib” (Sarah Elizabeth Carico). Both cousins were from Terre Haute and the daughters of Cynthia Evaline St. Clair Carico.
