About this book
[ALS to John Bruce]
Author: Collier, John P. (John Payne)
Year: 1841
8vo. pp. 4. Letter in which Collier discusses the Percy Society fracas concerning the ‘Gosson’ and Bansley tracts: he consented to castrate the tracts, and ‘the great mass of copies were struck off with lines and asterisks’, but he also had twenty copies printed ‘exactly in accordance with the original’, and sends one to Bruce, ‘as a book-rarity which you may like to possess’. He had none bound, and has had three ‘urgent applications’ for copies that morning. Whittaker is about to issue a new edition of Reasons.
